Forest to be thinned around Wildcat Hills Nature Center

These two trees marked with blue paint will be among those retained at the Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area located south of Gering. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission plans to begin a thinning project that will remove approximately 50 percent of the trees in the forest around the center.
